I'm too drained by my pathetic groveling to do a whole review, but I just wanted to say that DVD should stand for Donnie Vuckin' Darko.

Oh yes. As mind fuck films go, it's a goodin'. Got lots o' love for the soundtrack too.

But mostly, I was stunned to see Drew Barrymore act. The mind reels. Careens, even.

See, I actually thought she was the weakest part of the flick. Although that last deleted scene with her, where she finally got to smile, was great.

I agree, she was the weakest part of the movie. But the movie was great, anyway. Killer soundtrack, brilliant concept, just creepy enough, filled with a couple great "oh, shit, yeah" moments.

I loved it. I tell all my friends to see it.

Oh, and that version of the song "Mad World" fits so beautifully.

Oh, now you got me started...

You guys have to rent the DVD, if you haven't already. The commentary on the "Cunning Visions" infomerical alone is worth it, and there's a ton of other goodies.

Dude, I own the DVD. And the soundtrack.

And yes, Drew was the weakest link (how much longer 'til we get that phrase back?), but mostly I was in awe that she was acting at all. The girlie peaked at ET and it's all been bad hair and boobs doin' the acting ever since.

I think you might be ready for Memento, if you haven't already seen it. It's another good one for twisting yer brain into gooey knots.

Or Reed Richards in the FF movie. Watch the first 30 minutes of LA Confidential, and TELL me he's not channeling Reed Richards.

The commentary almost ruined Donnie Darko for me. I think it takes away from a lot of the mystique in the movie.

Still, absolutely one of the best films I've ever seen.

So far, Riley doesn't even suck! I'd been told he was terrible for ages.
