Are you a Blogspot victim? Dean Esmay wants to help:
If you're currently on Blogspot, I will, free of charge, set you up with a Movable Type based blog. You will need $15 to register a domain, and $5/month. That's it. Nothing more. $15 up front and $5 per month. That gets you more speed, more reliability, much more powerful blogging software, and much more flexibility and freedom. As well as your own personal domain and set of email addresses.
That's basically how Parrott helped me out, and it's pretty awesome. Do it.
Update: Check out the comments for other non-Blogspot options.
Posted by Jim Treacher at June 5, 2003 04:42 PMBut JournalSpace is always improving, is cheaper at $2.00 a month, has manipulative HTML and CSS control, voicemonkey, and can have third party templates downloaded with a gallery and much more.
Posted by: Cecile at June 5, 2003 11:51 PMCool. At this point, pretty much anything but Blogspot.
Posted by: JT at June 6, 2003 12:43 AMWhy not just wait for TypePad? Supposed to be out by end of summer. Free, or close to it, and much of the power of MT, PLUS, a more visually pleasing user interface. MT is a great product, but I *hate* the visual look of it. Did they not look around at other software products and note that none of them use a low contrast scheme?
Posted by: Jeff Brokaw at June 6, 2003 04:44 AMThey must not have, I guess. Anyway, I'm glad I didn't wait any longer. Anything's better than Blogspot.
Posted by: Jim Treacher at June 6, 2003 08:44 AMblogspot IS good however, if you've got to take a really big dump and are looking for something to do it on.
Posted by: kool keith at June 6, 2003 06:00 PMMight I add, though, that most of my writing could legitimately be described as "a really big dump", so perhaps blogspot is the perfect place for me.
For now, anyway.
