I'm looking for a volunteer

Anybody out there know how to install MT-Blacklist? I'm getting deluged with trackback spam. I guess if some idiot runs a sleazy gambling site, they're not going to be too concerned about ethics. Or about being a complete jackass.

If you can help and don't want any money for it, please e-mail me. Thanks in advance.

Dear Spammer Asshole,

I'm not happy that I just wasted 2 hours on this, but at least I have one consolation: So did you.

Signed,
Your New Lifelong Enemy

Update: I'm not going to link to the site, but it looks like they've been hitting hundreds of blogs over the last few days, and their ISP has already taken the site down. But... the whole point of trackback spam is to increase your Google ranking, right? Why would you bother doing that if your site doesn't even exist anymore? Because you're a moron, I guess.

I can't wait until they start putting these guys in jail.

FWIW, I completely solved my comments spam a while back by simply renaming my comment script from the default "mt-comments.cgi" to something random like "bite-me.cgi." I made the appropriate change to mt.conf, rebuilt, and problem solved. I didn't need MT-Blacklist.

I have been getting some trackback spam today, so I may try a similar approach with that. I can keep you posted.

FYI: I tried that a while back and it worked only for a very short time. Eventually, comment spam reached then exceeded earlier levels.

Now I've got Typekey user validation turned on with the latest version of MoveableType and that has totally eliminated comment spam, but I got hit with the track-back spam like everyone else.
