Why not, it's Sunday. Thoughts? Attempts at thoughts?

NOTE: All demands for more and better posts that are not accompanied by cash donations will be ignored. As will the ones with donations, but at least I'll have the cash.

uh..., um...., ah.......

This really sucks. I would gladly take Hillary over Obama any day. I survived a Clinton presidency before. If and when Obama wins, from that point on I won't be able to watch most tv. It will be non stop stories about the historic presidency, his grand achievements in his first 100 days, his soaring popularity ratings, etc. The media want this so bad, that if McCain was winning, the Troopergate findings would be spun into one of the gravest crimes against humanity evah.

Please Mr Treacher, don't stop blogging after Nov 4. You, Allahpundit and Ace are the only political people I read.

Maybe Red Eye will becaome the new "Daily Show" ....

i just saw a jeep commercial on tv. the passengers were a white guy and a black guy and there was a girl too, of course. i kept thinking, "where's the chink in the wheelchair?"

Hilarious body of work on this site. You're a joy to read, and one of the few who's using humor to his advantage. Keep up the good work.

Has the check from Lorne come in yet?

Regardless of who wins the election, the MSM will never be looked at in the same way again. Everyone has their number now. The "New Media" is rising to the occasion and setting a new standard.

Obama's next memoir should be "Sins of My Mother".

Posted by: T. Miller Quinn at October 12, 2008 02:45 PM

What strikes me about this campaign is the divisions it is creating in each of the parties. On the Dem side it is Obama's people against Clintonistas and self-aware women. On the Repubs it's the elites (Will, Buckley, etc.) against the base.

I wonder about the realignment that will occur during a McCain or Obama "recession" presidency.

And I'm having pie for dessert today.

Posted by: Beryl at October 12, 2008 02:48 PM

I'm eating pie today too: turtle pie to be exact. What kind of pie?

Posted by: T. Miller Quinn at October 12, 2008 02:52 PM

Pie is good. Cake is better.

CLE-VER name choice, Papa (I likes preemptive strikes).

Happy Thanksgiving in advance to both Canadian readers of this blog. For the curious, it's like American Thanksgiving, only colder, "multilateral," and the Natives aren't such good shots.

Can someone blow up one of those Bob HOPE posters and send it over to the UK? I want one for my "flat." Preferably addressed to Bristol. It's a port, so things get sent here. I think.

Keep on fuckin', y'all.

Posted by: Papa Don't Treach at October 12, 2008 03:04 PM

Hey, I totally forgot it wasn't Thanksgiving in other parts of the world! And did you know we're having an election on Tuesday? It's like the one in the U.S., except with three more parties and two fewer years of campaigning. Happy day to everyone, anyway, and thanks for the bloggin', Mr. Treach.

You can abbreviate Deathbed Meda to DBM which is good because it contains BM. Or maybe bad. I forget now.

Back when there was an INS, a UP, and several European services that served to provide some competition, along with the bureaus operated by the major papers or chains to allow triangulation on the truth, I read all the papers available (Which was 2 SF, 2 SJ, and a Palo Alto paper).

Now we subscribe to the only paper available (the Weird Harold) in which I read the comics (or most of them), the Bridge column, and the cross-word puzzle.

All of which I can get on-line, if a little inconvenient.

Leaving comments is more funner when one can leave comments.

It also adds a particular nuance to stalking that one just can't get without comments turned on.

My apologies to your inbox.

"You can abbreviate Deathbed Media to DBM.."

Some might think you mean the other DBM, which is just fine by me. Anyone who tries to play Death Metal on a keytar deserves a good shaming.

Posted by: Joanie at October 12, 2008 06:26 PM

I hadn't considered that, Joanie, being mentally consumed with immaturity. But you're right.

Yup, this election is what my mom and dad have been telling me is coming ever since I was born. "All we need is one generation of teachers, reporters, and political leaders, honey, and we will change the world!"

They hate the military, they hate John McCain, and they love the radicals of the 60's, of which they were a part.

The media is STILL spitting on the Vietnam Vets, this time, they can spit their poison on John McCain by not telling the truth about Barrack Obama.

This is the culmination of everything people like my parents have been working for their entire lives. Their greatest dream, their most fervent desire, could possibly come true.

My dad barely speaks to me now, because he knows how hard I am working for the McCain campaign...he is awfully happy lately though, i think he thinks they've won.

T. Miller Quinn: Cherry and wild huckleberry (like the hound) with a crumb crust.

Spmat: No, cake is not better and only a Frenchman would think so. Consider: if Marie Antoinette had said, "Let them eat pie," there would have been no revolution, only happy, pie-filled Frenchies.

Who is there?

Barack who?

Q: Why did Bill Ayers cross the road?

Posted by: Sean M. at October 13, 2008 02:54 AM

Knock knock.
Who's there?
William Ayers.
William Ayers who?
Y'know, my friend Obama keeps saying that too!

Any chance comments will be allowed for all posts not just open threads?

Posted by: Duffy at October 13, 2008 08:45 AM

Not unless somebody wants to volunteer to moderate them.

Posted by: Treach at October 13, 2008 09:15 AM

by moderate...

do you mean stopping once a week and deleting the spam porn ads?

Posted by: David C at October 13, 2008 03:12 PM

by moderate...

do you mean altering the comments to make them less extreme in tone?

Because I will not be prevented from letting the world know that OBAMA IS NOT THE BEST CANDIDATE OUT THERE! And Obama pals around with PEOPLE WHO I MYSELF WOULD NOT ASSOCIATE WITH!
